The paper provides a practical insight in the development of cross media travel guides for a target group demanding sophisticated quality content. At first two critical questions for the design of the cross media content production process are described and their area of conflict is specified. Second the paper outlines the content production process and the balance of technical and human support of the writing process, with a group of authors. Additionally, the paper finishes with an outlook on technical challenges and changes of the field of work and new requirements concerning lectors and publishers.
